SUMMARY:Love Longer\, Live Smarter - Planning For Care in an Age of Medical Breakthroughs and Longer Lives
DESCRIPTION:February may be a time for flowers\, flattery\, and falling in love. It's also a time for connecting with family and those we count on in a crisis.\n\nWith that in mind\, some scientists and medical futurists are predicting that in the next five years or less\, we could experience the equivalent of three centuries of progress in screening and preventing illness. Plus\, it's projecting human longevity could stretch toward 120\, 130 - possibly 150 years. We're living longer\, healthier lives and longevity changes everything.\n\nAs a contributor and collaborator with MIT's Age Lab and affectionately known by clients and the community as the Queen of Long-Term Care Planning\, our February guest speaker will tell you this: love alone\, without a plan of care\, is not enough when an unexpected crisis strikes. The consequences will be expensive and can leave even the closest and loving family in chaos.\n\nWe think February is a great time for that family conversation about protecting our choices\, preserving dignity\, and planning for the longer life ahead. And that's what we'll talk about at the Elderwerks Educational Services live webinar - how planning and funding for care before the crisis may be one of the most loving and important decisions we ever make.\n\nJoin Carol Brandt\, CLTC on Tuesday\, February 10 from 6:00 7:00 pm to learn more. With decades of experience in long-term care planning and funding\, Carol will lead a thoughtful\, educational and inspirational conversation you won't want to miss.
