DESCRIPTION:Journeys from PADS to HOPE will hold its annual Homeless Memorial Service to honor the area's homeless who have died during the past year. The event will take place on Thursday\, December 22\, 2011 from 9:00 am to 10:00 am at Journeys from PADS to HOPE\, 1140 E. Northwest Highway in Palatine.\n\n\n\nThe service and candle lighting is held as reminder that homelessness is still a serious   and growing   problem in the northwest suburbs and throughout the country. Speakers will include staff and community members and volunteers. Homeless men and women and their families will participate in the readings. The media\, elected officials\, civic leaders\, and community leaders are urged to attend.\n\n\n\nJourneys from PADS to HOPE provides supportive services\, transitional housing\, and emergency shelter to over 1\,000 suburban homeless and at-risk individuals and families annually.
